Tri-x 400 has always been my favourite BW film.
This gargoyle is so familiar to me. I was in Paris for a short while in 1973. Maybe I saw it then. ? Or have I seen it in some films?
Andre

Bolas Leo. Mete medo ao diabo. A fotografia seguinte parece desafiar o teu gargula a um duelo.

Dave Stacey   {K:137952} 11/5/2009
Nice capture of the gargoyle with Paris spread out behind him, Leo!
Dave.

jacques brisebois   {K:70392} 11/7/2009
Perfect work, nothing more to say... really have to see this place with my own eyes. The composition is perfect, maybe use a selective section to bring more details of the background. Still a real nice picture.

Maja Godec   {K:15037} 11/7/2009
like a keeper of the town.. excellent capture!

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:126315} 11/8/2009
The tonal range is very very good and the idea for the composition too, Leo! The latter is so well balance and allows a real good impression of the distance and the height over the city. The softer focus at the background would work even better if there was a real good focus on the sculpture. The gradients that retain the look and feel of its plasticity are there but the contours and the details are too strongly softened out, which in combination with the clipping at the top weakens the possible impact.

Cheers!

Nick

I have seen this point of view before, with the Eiffel in the distance. Not so here, but a great view of Paris, nonetheless! B&W certainly suits this!

Clifton Jones   {K:11837} 11/25/2009
OUTSTANDING......
