No, not your best in the sharpness, but I agree that I love the pose as well. A difficult shot to acheive any way you look at it.

We can't always measure the quality of a picture only for its sharpness etc...!

I agree that the pose of the bird is the strongest element of your image,Jim,which is not very good technically.But I admit that I wouldn't resist posting it if it was mine,as well! Regards,Kostas

Wonderful, Jim! Yes, you're right, it's a little bit unsharp and grainy, but the pose makes it so interesting and beautiful anyway. Background is lovely, but I'm thinking that perhaps if you keep the foggy one, maybe the bird will suit in better in the "atmosphere" and wont feel unsharp?

You have a marvelous pose here. Good catch. Wish I had cormorants and other sea birds near me! Pigeons just don't quite do it for me! :-D

Good shot jim, but is it taking off or is it drying the feathers ? I think they stand more erect to do that. up here you can't get close enough for a shot like that , they are too spooky. egards jimc

Again very nice capture. Again something isn't so good at the outline of the bird. Perchaps if you use mask tool for toning the background... the mask isn't perfect.
