Hi Marty,
Great composition, although the rose in the crotch might be considered a bit contrived. Be careful with hotspots on the background paper like the lower right corner and the shadows cast by the models left hand. The lighting of the background behind the model is perfect. For this particular pose, placing one of the softboxes straight on (rather than at 45) will provide the right illumination of the models stomach and arms. Keep shooting!

Good start Marty. I think a softbox above the camera pointed down on her at about 45d would have been the better choice. I like the connection between the roses and the backdrop but I have to agree with Barry... the flowers along the body are a bit over the top and are actually distracting the line of the body. With this type of composition I think that shadows can get in the way so use those softboxes to reduce the specularity.

Hi Marty...I too would eliminate the flowers on the body and rather have one in the models right hand. The other things that bother me is the hotspot in the lower right corner of the image and the shadows created by her leg on her torso and the shadows from her right arm on the background and her face. Other than that its a very interesting shot and composed very well...I like the white satin and the red background that accentuates the roses. Hope you try this one again...*smile*...Maggie

Thank you all for the feedback! I expect to be able to buy my own lights within the next 2 weeks and I will most certainly refer back to your comments to make my next shoot better.

I didn't even notice the hotspot that everyone was talking about because the rose in the crotch was (in my conservative opinion) less than tasteful.
The model's pose is very good though.
As for lighting I would try and simplify. I would go for some single-source lighting with a reflector to give it some mood. This also might solve the conflict between your two lights -- because your lighting is a bit on the harsh side with shadows falling into places you may not have intended. Slow it down, look at the scene and place the light and shadows where you want them.
