About Many people have shot this popular location. So to get a little edge, I literally pulled my old Toyota pickup truck right where visitors often stand and shoot, climbed up on the pipe-racks and picked up a little extra height. I also stacked two polarizors for this image. Have tried the same thing many other times, but never had it work like I feel it does here. Does the flying bird stand out enough?? Your thoughts and opinions are always appreciated.

Nice composition, awesome Velvia colors

Jeroen Wenting   {K:25177} 6/12/2003
The Velvia touch is very visible, got to love that film :)

You got just enough clouds in the sky to prevent the background from becoming a featureless blue, well seen that.

A tad more light on the foliage in the foreground would have provided more texture in that, fillflash might do it (depending on distance, I often forget too).

Maybe crop just a bit from the left to get rid of that lone leave sticking into the frame (or clone it out, but I don't like doing things that way).

You seem to have lost detail in the rocks and vegitation near the lighthouse. Is that because it's a bit soft or because it's too small to see in a downsized scan?

Congratulations, I love nitpicking over small details. It shows there's little to find wrong :)

nothink to crop.superb image.

I like everything about this picture. Minor changes as Jeroen suggested would help, but doesn't reall need the change. The bird doesn't show up very well, too bad it couldn't have been flying closer to the light near the rocks for contrast.

Good job.

An absolutely beautiful capture. Good rich color and clarity. A lovely angle. I can't find anything that I would change. Well done.

Thanks for your comments.Tripod...well,if it is handy is useless ,if it is sturdy, usable is heavy and can make a hell out of a trip.I fully agree with you.

Vincent: This image is so beautiful it seems unreal. It seems like a painting of a place that does not exist. It's beautiful!

The view is spectacular and the colors are amazing. You said two polorizer filters? Is that possible? I did not know you could do that..... I'm learning everyday, thanks!

I did notice the bird although that's not where my eye was first drawn. My eye went right for that lighthouse and then everywhere else. This is truly a masterpiece and I would be proud to hang it in my home. FANTASTIC, flawless!

The bird stands out beautifully as does the red on the lighthouse...the perspective within the composition is excellent with good saturated colors...love the open clear feel of the imag

Gerry Vincent   {K:3154} 8/2/2003
Awesome shot. The colours are nice and saturated thanks to the combination of Velvia and CPL. The bird I feel does not detract or add anything to this postcard of a shot.
