Oh Boy... Vince... How can you create such a great colors... I have been keep asking you the secret receipie for such a picture... Wish I could go with once for a photo shoot.
Love the fg inclusion in the picture which helps to demonstrate "here to far" and framing element as well. Great painiting... I mean great picture.

What an interesting use of color and light! I always learn from your work. The sunset filter is new to me, but it worked well for you here. Although every element in the scene is tangible (boats, rocks, water), the intense color and use of shadows makes it seem almost superrealistic, just out of reach of what one might observe on a casual day. This appeals to me on many levels, the drama pulls me in. Do you think such a filter would work with a digital camera (I use the Canon 10d) or is it the Velvia that makes it work?

Absolutely beautiful...you have given it the drama you were looking for...a perfect foreground entrance into the harbor, though you've made it look more like a lagoon...beautiful detail and an excellent exposure...one of my favorite places
