About OK I could not resist one more from this shoot. This is very similar to LUSH but with some water (yes sprayed on!!) I'm most interested to see what people who were bothered a bit by the green stem in the bottom of LUSH feel about this take. Does the water help keep th eye away from the bottom? For what it's worth...I thought the stem in LUSH and this one play an important role in tying the two different plants together that grew into each other where they were sitting. I thought it helped tell the story of the different colors and the relationship... UGH this is droning on... I'm done!

Fantastic Macro!! Beautiful colours great composition!
All round a winner!
Cheers
Alan

ps: IMHO the green stem at the bottom helps to contort(for want of a better word) the pic in an interesting way!

To me it doesn't matter whether the stem is there or not, although I prefer Lush 2 and Lush 3 to Lush and Lush 4. I'm not sure it serves the role of tying the two plants together as you suggested, because it is not visually obvious that the green stem comes from the blue flower. Perhaps that is because the flower is much softer than the stem. The water droplets (sprayers rule!) add a nice element without overwhelming the rest of the image. Anyway, here's two cents worth :)

Ditto my last comment, John. Peace.

The water droplets are not a problem, other than they almost looked sprayed on - if it was after a rain then no problem (ok, that may be a purist comment), but I do like the added interest of the droplets. The green stem, for me, almost adds a little abstracty kind of feeling/look to it for me personally. I do love the depth of field too, almost a 3D look to it.I probably wouldn't have commented on the green stem, if you hadn't mentioned it!

Thanks Derek! I was afraid that might happen if I pointed it out but I really wanted some feedback on it...

This is such a wonderful series, and I've enjoyed viewing it. I have to say that the first "Lush" is still my favorite. The added water is nice, but IMO not neccessary, the composition is strong enough without it. To me the green stem aids in directing the eye up and through the image, an important element in the overall composition.
