Excellent shot Andrew

Darkly surreal and surreal to the core, Andrew. I see inspiration, too, from the Dadaist's and expressionist painting... but truly your own vision. An image one might have seen from Magritte had he sprouted wings. Absolutely fantastic.

again perfect, and yet I hated the title...

Well! Here's a rare example of successful digital photographic collage. Well-balanced composition. Wise choices dealing with the relationship between two-dimensionality (the paedophile bird, treated like a paper cut-out) and three-dimensionality (the main subjects standing naturally between the background and foreground). There's a helping of Monty Python animation style in here, to my mind. And inspiration from Hieronymus Bosch in the treatment of the child's "potted head". I don't find this picture at all disturbing -- its meaning is a bit forced and contrived. But I do find it to be a marvellous graphical work, the product of a classically skilled painter. Congratulations Mr. Palushkin! More please! Rgds, Svend

Andrew,
I keep on looking at this image and can't help
but ponder at its intended meaning...
Does the gentleman in the sky with wings represent Religious Leaders? Are they raping the minds of innocent children with their propaganda?Like an devil in Sheeps clothing...they are representing theirselves as servents of god...
Doing so to the very young and innocent in a stage in their lives when they are most impressionable. Hence the branches sprouting out like antennas, grasping for spiritual food, yet starving(notice the branches are withered)
And the third eye meaning their spiritual intuitiveness?
I noticed the child is gift wrapped and handed on a platter for them to use as they will , by parents who choose to offer them up as the ultimate sacrifice...

Andrew,
This piece makes me cry...
I love it dearly.. I am not sure what its true meaning is and I doupt that you reply but it has touched me deeply..
You are a master at controversy I applaud you!

Carol

Andrew, this is a deeply disturbing and very powerful, compelling image. I feel the title gives a valuable clue your meaning. Religious leaders that prey upon youth. Innocence of the youth displayed is reinforced by the openness and impressionability of their young minds by forces that they percieve as trustworthy and spritual or "heavenly". The reality of the situation by the authority figure appearing in a spritual context displays, to me, that the "heavenly pediophile" himself is confident in the heirarchical authority postion enjoyed and abused by the figure himself, above all, above the "laws of church and man" and protected by that position with the knowledge that perception of "heavenly" atrributes and trappings perpetuates the false security associated with such a powerful and authoritative role in society. Sorry about the rambling but this is very passionate to me. Thank you for such wonderful and compelling imagery.

Occasionally I ?despair? at sameness of the work (mine and others) and then I discover Andrew Polushkin?
Really at the uppermost levels of creativity! Great value, great artistry!!! Here the imagination is boundless and flows unchained!
