About I took this photo whilst in a garden in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. The bee was flying from flower to flower quite quickly, so I didn\'t get much time to capture this photo without it flying off again!

Nice.

Nice bee!Good composition but DOF a bit short (IMO).
Regards.

Bees are so hard to capture. I have found that very early morning is the best time for me as they are a little more sluggish. Maybe they haven't had their first cup of coffee/tea yet. :)
Very nice composition.

Stephen,
this would have been absolutely stunning if the dof had been deep enough to make the flower stalk and the bee both be in focus. As it is I think you missed the focas slightly on both. However the composition I like, as well as the out of focus background.
Keith
ps - I am not able to email you just yet, working silly 18hr days. But I will mail you soon. K

Thanks for all your comments, I agree with them all (Luis, Jose, Sandra, & Keith).

To Keith: I agree entirely with your summary - the picture was close to being really good, but the faults let it down quite a lot. Close, but no cigar! )

I got my new camera last Thursday, a Canon PowerShot G5 - it's great! I've taken some more pictures of the same plant with bee's on (this plant is always covered in bee's!). I posted an improved image yesterday which is slightly closer to the bee (http://www.usefilm.com/showphoto.php?id=163241), and I will post another one tonight which is similar in composition to this one.

Thanks,

Stephen
