About Ok, I had to do some PS here I do need some help with this one... the idea was to capture myself through a close-up filter... I focused to my hand and then put my face from a distance of the filter -you can image a silly boy putting all kind of marks in the floor to know distances- shot at f1.4 to only get the hand and filter in focus. Didn't really work... My eye in the filter is not much sharper than the rest of the face, and other shots were was focused OK I cropped myself... so I had to PS until I think or I get some help to accomplish my goal.

This is the image I used for the eye... taken the same day

What's not to like about your image, Derek? To me, your eye is much more in focus than the rest of your face, which seems to be what you intended. OK, maybe your hand could be just a little sharper, especially the finger and thumb holding the filter.

thanks John for your comment. So I guess in your opinion this image would work better if everything was in focus? or maybe creating a unfocus bit with filter?

I find it grate in the way it is. The photo gets the atention to the eye (principal element of the photos) and the hand wich manipulate the lens. I like it.

Hi Derek, nice to meet you! A very nice and original concept for a self!! Although you didn't get what you intended, I like the result very much, very nice pose and expression!! To me it's best as it is. Thanks for your comment. Best regards :)

good work, it must be really really difficult to do it by yourself. i had a hard time trying to focus on the eye in the picture i posted.. i should have tried with less light and larger aperture, f22 made everything kind of in focus of course but i usually dont think when im taking the picture.
i think your portfolio is really good. congratulations:)
