You've got an unusual composition here, John, but I think it works. The lower horizontal block grounds the image nicely and the middle wire, with the help of the linear grass stalks, actually pull the composition together. The white highlights of the foreground daisy petals do look a bit blown-out, however. This image almost tells a story...

Beautiful John. Perfect composition, and the filtered light from the fog is wonderful, it really gives this the feeling of quiet peacefulness. I can almost picture in my mind an entire fence row of these delicate daisies just visible through the mist.

Hi John!
I've spent quite a bit of time looking at this photo and of the newer upload of the almost-same one. I think I prefer this one (and of course I'll tell you why ;))

There's a quality here of isolation that's almost visceral. It's as if the daisies are looking through a window, into the world. I think it's the combination of fog and your good DOF control. The fence and background vertical stem accentuate this as well. And the burst of light in the upper left is gorgeous.

Ditto what Andrew says about the weight given by the board on the bottom.

It could be that the slightly blown petals on the near blossom are just the scan or jpg compression? If not, I still think this is a wonderful composition, with much to much going for it to be discarded because of a small thing like that!

Onward . . .
Jeanne
