About Late October 2000 in Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park. The elk were still in the rut. My question, should the branch/bush in lower left stay or go?? I know the ragged coats that look like they're shedding make no sense. It was nice late into that fall, perhaps their coats came in and they were trying to rub them off, since winter and snow was late arriving?? It probably around Oct. 27 when this was taken. Normally the road through the park is closed by then due to snow. But there wasn't any.

I'm surprised that no one has commented on this!

I think you've done a wonderful job with this Lisa. Keep it up :-)

From the thumbnail, it looks like a lot of brown blobs on a brown background. Such shots don't get many views, peoples' eyes are drawn to the more contrasty shots with vivid colours and if you're short on time you don't then look at the rest.
It is a nice shot, maybe a bit lacking in colour but that's hard to get in an uncontrolled environment .
This one might actually look better in B&W.

Personally, I think it's great - with good lighting ! Good job.

Lisa, I missed this when you first uploaded it - it is fabulous, great lighting and excellent capture. I know you can sit around for hours watching these guys and get nothing but elk grazing. As far as the tree, me think that I would either like to see a little more of it in the foreground or not at all, however, more of it can start to get a little busy.
this just isn't getting much attention from the thumbnail - but still a good picture so don't let the number of views be an indication here.
