About Since Kona is the most popular destination on the Big Isle, I spent an entire afternoon looking for something to capture. I literally walked the shoreline for miles..... Any opinions are appreciated!

exquisite composition.

The vivid green moss is amazing, Vince. I don't remember this location when I visited Kona last fall; it's a gorgeous location. I particularly like the large wave coming in, and the way the rocks curve back around at the lower right. Only detraction is the sky's a bit hot at the upper right, at least on my monitor.

Vincent, hard to say anything to help you. It only occurs to me that, maybe, the red spot is a little disturbing, but it is part of the landscape. The almost white sky at right doesn1t bother me. Actually I like it a lot because it helps to drive the attention to the main subject. Very good. Marilia. And by the way. WHAT A GREAT SHOT :))

Excellent pic Vicent! regards!!

It is hot Tom, but I decided to leave it that way. The sun was actually very close to setting just to the right which gave me the stronger light for the moss. Actually you would never recognize this place in the Summer....the ocean puts back all of the sand. This was taken in Winter when the sand was removed. Neat actually. Thanks for the comments!

Wow!!! Wonderful strong colours. Maybe to strong? But very good composition. Regards/Anders

Marilia, the red thing is a lifeguard stand. In the prints of 8x10 and larger, it is easily recognizable and I actuallly like it there since it breaks up the greens and blues. On a monitor it is not quite so distinguishable.

Oh, you said.."WHAT A GREAT SHOT"!.....go to your room...you are a bad little girl Marilia!...hehe

Im going to call you "Vivid" Vince :-). This is another great picture. So nice and gloomy green and aqua blue - excellent colors. The white sky on the rt cornor is little bothering, as you always present a great blue sky.

Nice job, "V" Vince.

Elangs.

Excellent composition and beautiful colors. The red spot at the top left is a little distracting IMO. Anyway very good shot. Regards, Günter.

i like the overall composition. Green moss and blue water provides a very nice feel to the image but bright harse light at the top right corner is a distraction. good work!!!

Gerry Vincent   {K:3154} 7/4/2003
Wonderfull shot Vincent. I really love the greens of the algae and the bleau water. Great composition as well.

What I like best about this image, is the intensity of it. And I think you did a great job enhancing this aspect with the vivid color, the exposure chosen and the capture of the wave at that precise moment. The red lifeguard chair fits well, especially when I imagine this as a large print. well done Vincent.

I would say that the walk was worth it...you have captured a very beautiful scene...rich with the lush vegetation that the Islands are so well known for...

Looks like we have been walking in each others back yards lately, Vincent. You along the Kona coast, and me in Iao valley... This is a terrific scenic, especially due to that incredibly green moss, perfectly highlighted by the low angle of light. At first I was a bit distracted by the red lifeguard stand, but as you say, with the added detail in a larger print, it probably works well. Another job well done, my friend. Aloha, GP.

Unreal color! The water is great. As they say including a red item in your image can add interest but in this instance I find the red object on the coast distracting. I suppose there is not much you can do about that when shooting. Post production though you might be able to tweak it in PS. Perhaps not being able to see what it is contributes to my distraction. Amazing portfolio you have!

Great color. Perfect exposure, composition.

This is calendar quality..
