Ecelent shot, very good composition and tone.

Diana Wiersma   {K:26404} 7/4/2003
What a beautiful lightning Marilia! The composition is very good, all the attention goes to the statue this way. Great job on this one, I like it a lot!

Fabio Keiner   {K:49344} 7/4/2003
thousand years are like one day before god's eyes
the bible tells us
time depends on the speed we are travelling, marilia
light being the fastest traveller
:)
nevermind, you are taking up my favourite idea: watching shadows wander on the wall (or objects) and learning to see reality
(realities hidden normally)
:
a practical zen meditation
your picture
and certainly an enligthened one
:)

Vincent K. Tylor   {K:8890} 7/4/2003
Your use of light and shadows is superb in this Marilia. It does make a somewhat average subject quite dramatic in my opinion, and helps deliver your message of time. I do think if it were even sharper, it would be even more powerful. The wall seems sharp, the ststue a bit soft. Just my opinion though!

A lot much evocative one!! Beheaded means busto, with of the shapes of an elegant one sinuositàIl reflected of the light, seem to still give prominence more to the venature of the marble!! it compliments Maria Grace

Elangovan S   {K:10675} 7/4/2003
This is a great image. You have used the light so well on this one. The sidelight creating wonderful texture and gives a great modelling effect on the subject.

I salute the poetry written in the about section. Its so true and very well tought.

Elangs.

PS. Thanks for the suggestion on "R" picture. She is my wife. I have a cropped the picture as you suggested and posted in the same picture. I would love to hear what you think. Thanks again.

GP Merfeld   {K:14396} 7/4/2003
Oh Marilia, it is so great when a simple subject can gain such power through the skill in rendering it, as you have done. Brilliant control of light, shadow, and texture - whereby that detailed wall becomes time itself, softening yet strengthening the classic statue, representing culture itself, to me. A marvelous work, Marilia. Here's something sort of similar from me to you:

Marek Krol   {K:10641} 7/4/2003
You have captured the answer to the question you raise exactly. There is a timeless quality here, the passing of rays every afternoon, they will come without fail who knows how many have passed, the bust will still be there.

Technically, I find the image ratio a bit too wide. Then again, maybe it helps give the shadows length.

T Glow   {K:14955} 7/4/2003
Abraço aqui do sol poente lindo.

Paulo Carrasco   {K:-249} 7/4/2003
This one I like!
Excelente balance between light and shadow. And the B&W suits very well in this composition.

Congrats.

Massimo Di Maggio   {K:-55873} 7/4/2003
If you think well, there is not very much in this composition, but you were able simply to fill that empty space and our mind with the light... Ciao Max

Harlan Heald   {K:13990} 7/4/2003
Amazingly good! Beautiful composition! Bravo!

G C   {K:12204} 7/4/2003

Luis Leonardo   {K:873} 7/4/2003
Gostei imenso Marilia. Parabens por esta bela foto.

augusto mario cunha   {K:19049} 7/4/2003
Uau!

Another excellent composition, Marilia

Diamantino Mendes   {K:12959} 7/5/2003

Marcin Gorski   {K:12388} 7/5/2003
excellent study of light, abraco

Paulo Granadas   {K:1741} 7/5/2003
Lindissimo trabalho.

Obrigado
jorge
