very nice and original still life; the red color of the cap (?) capture attention without disturbing; the green "roads" help to follow him in your composition; egg white, then add a lot o f delicacy; very masterful choice of composition

We need to find out if mc is polishing his shoes with mustard :)
God, I love this world, it's always just plain funny!!!

Anyway, I digress, or rather I should get myself onto the original purpose. I like the general composition. It may be a touch bottom heavy, and I say that with a BIG question mark, because I really don't know. The light seems good to me, especially where it's more subtle -- as in, there's variety. I don't know much about this kind of work, so can't add much but appreciation and babble, I'm afraid :)

Nice still shot, and I agree that the wide lens is a nice choice with the leading line of the celery bringing me into the image. The sharpness of the lid and writing is excellent (something that I've had some problems with before, so believe me when I say that I think you've got a great image here!) I just wish that the whisk didn't fall off the cream coloured cloth, as it get lost in the darkness back there.
Was the off coloured light what you were going for when you set this up, or is it just a by-product of the "cheap" lights? I have a love of using my desk lamp to light things, as I love the warm glow it gives subjuects.
Anyways, nice set-up and execution!
