This is what I consider excellent work. It reminds me of Arnold Newman's portraits - he photographed people in surroundings that were important in their lives; here, you've shown a man with a person who is vital to his life. It's really an emotional portrait.
The composition works, the lighting is fine (maybe just a bit less light on the man would be o.k.). One thing that bothers me is that there seems to be some sort of round stain just underneath the mother's head - or is it something actually in the background? Anyway, I'm putting this shot into my favourites.

Beautiful, Arek. Lighting and tones are wonderful, and you've caught all the little details in his face.
