Basically, I was just playing around with this image. Smart blur was used on the original portrait layer. Then the piece had a layer of gaussian blur set on screen as the blending mode with pieces erased out (eyes, mouth, details here and there...) A pinkish color was added to the original portrait layer via hue/saturation. The overall golden tone was created on the blurred layer with channel mixer. The last touch was to brighten the eyes a little.

It turned out beautifully - it has a wonderfully classic serenity - I might shift the crop around myself but then I simply like to play with comp - this is excellent just the way it is.
