I like the juxtaposition of the chimneys they line up very nicely the lighting is probably a little harder than it would be in the morning but seems to work well, the sky layer is fantastic, I am going to try that out myself, I couldn't get a better teacher, great shot Jim - Richard.

Jim the original with the blue sky is very good, but the whole of the added sky being in the same colour tones makes this such a striking image to me.

Hello Masahiko:
To me the most import subject in this scene is the small red chimney, which is why I placed it at the intersection of thirds -- which in classical composition theory consists of four "dymanic" points at which objects acquire increased visual gravity. There a plenty of exceptions to classical composition, but in this case, I think the positioning of the red chimney does make it the dominant element.

this is greaaat! - the red chimney does stay prominant - sky very intense adding to the overall drama - the shadows and lines work brilliantly
