About Taken during the Sandakphu trek. Day 01, before reaching Meghma. Copied the layer in PS, Desat, Overlay. Then decreased its opacity top make the actual colour pic visible through the B/W. Wanted a period effect(WW2). Comments most welcome.

I opened the picture because I thought the title had nothing to do with the thumbnail: the washed out colors give me a feeling of apathy, if not sadness and the subject carrying an heavy package gives an impression of effort, even more so since it appears to follow the steps of another poor soul along the path, as if obliged to carry a burden he doesn't want to carry. Paradise, on the other hand, should be a bright, colorful place in my mind.
These considerations aside, I don't particularly like the blurred trees, whereas I do like the path and sense of depth and distance given by the person in the background.
Bye,Luca

very nice composition. Alitle bit dark and a litle bit softless. I think that the problem is your scene. Anyway great composition. Very well done. ongrats.
Regards, Hayri

very interesting!
(I have written: Like a mantle, lukewarm and golden, the shadow of the evening embraces the campaign. Like an alert look and maternal accompany in to dark the life that sleep and that waits for the day that will come. .... sorry for my english and thanks for your comments)

Interesting shot! I think you achieved the period feel you were going for with the desaturated colors and slight overall fuzziness. I agree, though, that the title seems to not fit - I get more of a feeling of slight uneasiness and perhaps uncertainty, but this reaction does fit well with the WWII effect, I think.

i think the effect worked well - only tried this a couple of times and the sky has to be good to do it - looks like an awsome place to trek - and bloody tiring too i bet - really dreamy capture again - robin
