Your textures are just beautiful here, Ken -- I can always tell because shots like this make my hands rise up, uncontrollably. I like the tones, too. There's just enough contrast in the brickwork to make the light in the window really sing. Easy shot to ruin with bad tones, I think.

As for the skewed view. I think it's perfect. There's a perfect that's just exactly right, where every piece works with the next to make a whole. Then there's the other perfect, which is just a splinter away from death. Of course I think you got the right kind of perfect here :)

A pleasure to look at!

I really like the mysterious feel to this, the toning and the askewness (how's that for a word?) See ya, Rhonda

Ken,

This isn't a proper crit but this is about how some photos work (and this one works).

Some photos give us room to breathe and move and don't hand us answers on a platter. They can be looked at with satisfaction for great tracts of time.

the imagination is allowed to live...

thanks for this one...

really great, i love the black (dirt?) in between the bricks and the frosted (dirt?) window - very pleasing to look at

First of all; I liked your presentation a lot Ken. Could almost copy it.
This photo is very special. I get a feeling that a lot of things are going on behind that window - and the contrast to the brick walls is quite striking. They should be solid, but I wonder.
I also get a strong "material" feeling - almost like I can touch the wall and scratch it. Sometimes even an image on a computer monitor can produce that feeling.
Like someone said - this one gives room to breathe.
Great work.
