Lovely dog and nice capture with good colours. Maybe the background is a little bit too big and photo little unfocused/unsharp.

I think your crop and sharpening added the 'extra' little touch to make this photo in my opinion 'beautiful'.

I bet this guy isn't quite so puppy'ish looking anymore... they grow up so fast! The sharpening helped, but the centring of him in the middle of the frame makes this image not stand out. I know how hard it is to get good puppy shots, as they're ALWAYS moving around and playing. Keep on it and I'm sure you'll get some amazing shots.
