About I capped off Summer Solstice 2002 by camping overnight at this waterfall less than 1/4 mile from my home. Got up early to make some images. :-)

Nice image, but what is that on the right?

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the comment and question. If I posted this on the backpacking site I frequent, they'd know in 2 seconds. LOL! Guess I'm used to that crowd. It's a tent. That's partly why I called it "A Great Place to Rest" and mentioned camping there. Yup, I meant ON one of the rock ledges.

I was off to the side enough to avoid any splattering water, although the tarp I had folded up under the floor of the tent got muddy from settling into a few depressions in the rock that still had water in them.

(It wasn't really such a great place to try to sleep, truth be told. The sound of the waterfalls was nice. BUT, even with a good-sized pad, these ole bones couldn't get a nice groove to sleep in. So I was up early. I took a bunch of shots around 5:30-6 a.m. You'll be seeing more :-)
