Last one from my first attempt at traditional portraits 2 nights ago. Soft box at 45 degrees to model's left, umbrella at 45 degrees to model's right. I still have that unwanted shadow on the background, I swear there won't be one there next time! ;)

Hi Marty. The Vampy theme continues. In Hollywood Nuevo I thought that the very dark clothing added something that the clothing has detracted from slightly in this shot. Yep, I know that it is the same garment but the pattern on the lower part of the slip seems to provide an unwanted competing distraction IMO.
I wondered if going slightly more full in the length (just above the knee?) would have accentuated the sensual feel to this picture. The slash of flesh tone is possibly not large enough. This picture is crying out for dangerously ruby red nails and lips too. I can understand why lingerie companies choose models with fair skin and dress them in black to advertise their products.
Yet another competent picture (green with envy) :) which I like a lot.
Cheers! Jeff

Hi Marty,
I agree with Jeff re: the clothing... the flimsy top half of it is great and doesn't detract from the subject, but the crushed velvet on the bottom half competes for my attention (and the reflected light is really distracting).
I love the tilt of the model's head! Very sensual. But, yeah, again I agree with Jeff, either more leg or none at all (could you try cropping it at the end of the neglige?). Damn that shadow! But still a great image. They're just improving in leaps and bounds. Well done (I'm envious too!!!).

Very nice Marty. Be mindful of whether your intent is to have the subject blend with the background or if you want separation via some background lighting or rim lighting.
