About Hiked a long way in desert-like conditions with 50lbs of gear in the middle of the afternoon to get to this location. The green sand is real. Taken on the Southside of the Big Island. Your opinions are always appreciated.

Nice seascape with very good contrasts. IMHO colors are a bit oversaturated.

Beautiful capture Vincent, well worth the hike! Love that sand, why is it green?
In NZ we have grey sand on the west coast and gold on the east, go figure!

That's amazing what you did to Igor's photo btw.

Any ideas on my sunset with dark bicycle riders? It was a quick unplanned shot in the middle of traffic and I seem to have blown the moment. ;)

I Think your effort was compensate, Wasn't. Liked the colors and the perfect timming of the waves in the sand (the most of person don't pay attention for this very important element). This image was digitalized with the minolta 5400???? What are you thinking about the scanner. I'm thinking to buy one too, so your important is very important to me. Regards, Alex.

Vincent, now you are REALLY in my backyard (I am in South Kona), and are sharing one of my all time favorite hidden getaways. And no image I have seen of this place has done it better. Your saturated colors really bring out the magic of this beach, and perfectly reflect the feeling one gets when seeing it for the first time (or second, or third, the magic never goes away). Yes, the trip there is not an easy one. Sometimes the winds are so strong I have just laid in the back of the pickup truck in order to marvel without getting literally blown away. Other days, it is so calm, inviting you to hike down and sit on that beach and explore the outcroppings and caves. But man, that water always demands respect with its churning, magnificent power. And your power, with your brilliantly rendered scenics, is to perfectly capture and share that wonderful magic with the world. You have my respect and admiration and my sincerest mahalo for your incredible talent... A hui hou, GP.

Thanks GP. Your aloha spirit is abundant wherever you go. Yes, so you drove there!! I was told hat no cars were allowed, yet I did see one tourist vehicle ride right by me. I almost asked for a ride back, but was not finished shooting my 7 or so rolls. I wanted to be sure I caught at least a couple of winners so that I would not have to go back down this very hot and long hike again. I also had to wait quite some time for the sun to pop out. I was even worried that it would be too late in the day for any respectable colors....fortunately a couple turned out. So I doubt I will hike that one again anytime soon! Anyway thanks again for another encouraging comment GP and really to all of you for the very nice thoughts. Aloha once again.
