About Bad time of the day to be here, but by the time I drove the hour (not including the half hour of road construction delays), and set up, the clouds started to break up. Light levels increased. Waited until sun hid behind some of the clouds that hung around for the light to deminish somewhat. Still, the slowest shutter speed I could use was only 1/4 second. Not slow enough to get the nicer milky effect I love.

Beautiful time exposure. I disagree with you. 1/4 is perfect. I actually don't like it when it's to blurry. I like to see the lines of the water. Too long a time exposure and you lose that detail. Excellent capture.

I agree that it is an excellent capture, I love that you can see some of the detail of the rocks behind the falls. Great DOF. I also really like your composition with the foreground of the rocks. Super job!

I'm a sucker for waterfalls. Wonderful use of slow shutter. Very pleasing. Looks like it was probably an overcast day as the lighting isn't the greatest. I'd be curious to see if a polarizer would bring out the rocks in the foreground a bit. Of course, then you might have too much competition with the waterfall. If you are nearby this scene where you can go back, depending on the position of the waterfall, I'd love to see it in either early morning or later afternoon light.

Terrific shot!! Perfect display of the motion of the water without too much softness and blur... Makes me want to jump in and cool off. Nice work, Derek. :-)

Hey Derek nice one! I actually like the 1/4 second exposure. In this case I think the lines it creates are very good. Did you use a polarizer? Do you have a netural Density filter to cut light for longer exposures? Cheap filter if you want longer exposure time...
