About Lower Manhattan photographed from Brooklyn a few instants before sunrise. The sun's rays are painting the building facades, but have not quite reached street level, the South Street Sea Port or the East River. The same technique was used here as in "NY, NY -- Las Vegas"

I love the effect and the shot. Beautiful. It looks like it's slightly tilted to the left though--you might want to adjust.

Jim; this is excellent. I love the impressionistic effect and approach to this subject. It really is all about lighting and composition. The soft warm morning light you managed to capture here really gives this piece a warm and peaceful character. In fact I like the warm tones used throughout-- gives this a very 'pleasasnt' mood. Nice work. (I like these warm tones much better than your 'blue' works-- not meant to be a criticism, just a personal preference.) Cheers. Craig

MMmmmm. Very nice! I love the warm earthy colors -- even though it's not a landscape shot, it could very well be just that...

Jim, I checked out your portfolio and it seems you know your way around PS. Very creative work - impressive and inspiring. I like this photo of Manhattan. The 'tool mark'texture works well. Sam
