Excellent composition. It would be better with more DOF.

Regards, Aliyar.

Richard Thornton   {K:26442} 9/7/2003
The interest for me is the strong diagonals made by the spears. perhaps and even tighter crop would be even better, eliminating the upper left white area.

Antonio Trincone   {K:23167} 9/7/2003
the word for the subject is not suitable in my humble opinion; but the shot is very clear and I like the lines game created by the objects the soldiers have in their hands; well rendered red color and DOF too

Graham Mulrooney   {K:16868} 11/24/2003
A very interesting image of Roundhead soldiers from our civil war period in the seventeenth century. Good colourful image enhanced by the strong diagonals given by the soldiers Pikes. A greater depth of field would have made the image sharper but as it is it places more emphasis on the foreground soldiers.

Thanks for your comments on my,"The Sandstone Cliffs" they are much appreciated.

Dana Shek   {K:1520} 1/16/2004
Hi Hugo,

Your portfolio is inspiring, I'd like to comment on them all but I've chosen this one because it is the most original photo I've seen in a while and it was taken in a fleeting moment. I think I would crop the top and remove the distracting white frame on the left and give the soldiers in the foreground a little more prominence. Just my opinion. Any, great work!

Alex Teller   {K:8286} 2/1/2004
Excellent composition. The moment was perfectly captured, so natural, so real, I feel like being there. Great colors too. Couldn't be better.
Alex
