I asked about the lighting colors (redish tint) and from what I was told it's sunlight hitting on the smog and other pollutants lingering in the air. The day this was taken, (Sep. 6th) the Seattle area had not seen much rain in over two months and this night was to be the first "storm" or decent rain spell in a long while.
