Nice atmosphere Richard, Im a sucker for iron horses as well. This would have been a bad time to get your foot stuck under a railroad tie.

And what glorious days they were, Richard. My dad had no car when I was growing up, but he worked on the railways, so we went everywhere by train. I used to go trainspotting up on Weymouth embankment and, of course, had my own trainset!! Once again, you've uploaded a picture that brings back some good memories. Great little engine too! Kind regards, Chris.

A choice subject Richard, and it could be a favorite of mine but we don't have much in the way of trains around here. Very nice composition, and I like the tone you used-- not quite B&W, but suiting the subject. The DOF trails off nicely with the depth of the train. Nice shot!
BTW, I turned off the "Rating" system on one of my photos last night just to try it out-- but left it on in the 2nd one. Both are good-- but not great photos-- and interestingly, they've both gotten nearly the same number of comments. It's just that the B&W photo has "Ratings" to go along with it. I'm trying to decide if I want to continue to pursue "Ratings" at all, ie how important is the "excitement" or "need" of competition to me? Cheers. Craig
