About If you've ever strummed a few chords chords of air guitar, you can probably relate to this. The guitar god's face is fashioned from a straw-market Chinese hat, some yellow paint and a pair of sunglasses. Since I've been experimenting more and more with two-dimensional space, it was especially gratifying to use the same image simultaneously as the background and the focal point of the foreground subject. Jimmy Page wouldn't care, but I found it strangely satisfying. Comments appreciated. (Almost forgot, that's my real guitar in the background -- the old accoustic.)

Not a chance, Jamie. It's almost impossible to combine images into a photorealistic scene unless they've been photographed at carefully arranged angles under nearly identical lighting conditions. The only time I've had any luck was with the "Photobird" image, and then it worked only because once I desaturated the Shutterbird it was a close enough match for the foggy, almost monochromatic pond scene. --Jim

I can't help it Jim but your God reminds me of the little bird character fron Snoopy. Awesome composite image, now the real trick is can you do it and make it look realistic without the effects?

Amongst friends I have referred to you...

in a respectful manner...

as that McNut...

But... that is not fair... as here you have created him... with your own Accoustic...

Hat's off to you, and to think that you create these images in your spare time!

Just a week, Liz? How about months, even years? The only known cure is to get out there and shoot. Once you do that, all sorts of unexpected things start happening!

The guitar God plays a fender! I was thinking more a Gibson Lee Paul! Though a great many use a Strat. Great image Jim. Well thought percieved and exicuted. The acustic in the back really works! So cool to have a shot of Morrison's head stone! Nope that wasn't me! My hair was about 2 feet longer. Great work Jim!

This is cool Jim-- and yep I hacked away on guitars for 40 years-- just have an old Epiphone left. The guitar players snout and sunglasses reminds me of "Alf" of TV for some reason. I like the mix of cool and warm colors in a dominently warm piece, and the guitar and background are cool. Nice woek.

Very artistic and interesting work.I would like to see how it would be that this creature have human head?Do you have it in collection?I'd like to see it.
This one is also good but I think it would be better with "regular" head. :)

Thanks!
Best regards!

Jim, truly creative. I am not a guitar player either on a guitar or in the air but love to listen and watch someone play for hours. This is magnificent. It of course goes in my favorites, oh great and wise guitar god! (I prefer accousitic so I'm glad you included it in the background) Cheers, Rhonda

I dig the overall effect. Very creative. The tones are nice too. A nitpic may be to perhaps add more separation between the glasses on the left and the background. Interesting style.
