Printed on Panalure. I want to experiment a little more with this image. My gut reaction says its a stinker but I keep being drawn back to it. I didn't want to move the chair because my philosophy is to record it as you see it. I am open to suggestions.

David,
I am with you on the "record how it is school" however the brighter background from the tree is distracting.If the total background had the same distinct blacks as the top of the image - you would then be drawn to the chair.

That was my feeling about this too. However there was not much I could do about the background except use less DOF which was another after thought I had. If I were digitally inclined I am sure there is someting I could do about that background. I think this is going to be one of those images I learned a hard lesson about bad technique from no matter what my intentions were toward it.

David, I admire your purism nowadays... i'm almost like you, even dealing with photography just a few months. Great images do you offer to us: specially those from Reformatory. Concerning this image, let me try some suggestion: don't move the chair and, in my opinion, try to open the aperture. COncentrate the focus on chair and tree.
