About Always wanted to see the Drumheller hoodoos and I finally got the chance! I didn't really notice it until I scanned the pic, but the sky looks really strange in relation to the ground. I can assure you this is not a composite! Just a photo taken on a late, sunny afternoon with a storm rolling in. PS work: cloned out some brightly-dressed tourists (they were everywhere!) and removed a bit of polarizer vignetting. No colour or exposure adjustments. Honest critiques not only welcome, but bought four-course meals in expensive restaurants. ;)

Excellent job cloning out those tourists.... they neer stop coming! Just when you think you can grab a shot minus any brightly coloured clothing, they appear!
The sky is great here, adding a sense of turmoil to the image... I've seen these shots done so many times with the bright, clear blue of a cloudless day, and I've seen them with the dull, monochromatic overcast day, but the clouds here really work for this shot.
Maybe just getting a little closer, and making that one hoodoo stand out even more against the sky would have added a deeper sense of being there. The nice thing about the wide angle lenses is that you can still get fairly close to subjects, letting them fill the frame, and still have them in focus!

Very cool, seeing the various strata exposed to the elements here.

It seems the photo is taken with a fish eye since the image look hollow. Anyway you took it with a 28mm lens, so it must be the landscape. For me it is not spectacular, but the sky and ground do make a nice contrast.

this is great! i've never seen or heard of this formation. they look like overgrown mushrooms. very nicely captured. not sure i like the sky but hey, we can't control that can we? very nice landscape. although i would've liked to have seen more of the structures. closer with a bit less sky. great shot becky!

Very nice photograph! The cloudy sky elevates this from a record shot to a really first class piece of art. The sharpness, exposure and composition are all excellent. My only suggestion would be to warm up the colors on the rocks a bit. I think it would make it even more dramatic.

Interesting landscape, well seen. The sky does add a lot to the image. I'm glad you explained it was not layered in but actually there. It's always nice when nature cooperates. Good shot.
