I would like to know the reasons whoever rated this with 1's felt so strongly about this picture, it's very cowardly to just rate it and not comment - Richard.

Richard, so sorry that you have been hit by someone who feels the need to rate in this manner. First of all, this image clearly does not deserve these marks and secondly I agree if someone feels the need to rate in this manner, they could at least explain why and offer suggestions on ways to improve. I hate that this happens especially to one of my dear friends. Anyways, I am not much of a "boat" person; but it is a nicely executed photo. I like the colors and it is a good reflection of a busy day on the harbour. It appears you used a little PS for the overall effect, which I really like.

Eu não quem lhe deu as notas baixas, nem o motivo para ela fazer isto. Gostei muito da foto, principalmente do mar mais claro no fundo. Parabéns pela fotografia e nos mostre outras por favor

Richard; when I glanced at the Ratings Table, I was surprised to see the low ratings for what I think is an excellent photo. But I see some low-life just hit it w/ a row of 1s-- as you know that happened to me recently too. I personally don't think those 1s have anything to do w/ the photo at all, rather it's just some jerk getting kicks at someone else's expense-- and it seems ramdom. I think this is a very nice photo (I like it a bit better than the other you posted today), and especially like the row of boat bows-- and the water in the foreground with boat reflections is excellent. I gave it 7s across-- should help some.

I think Craig has hit on the reason for this persons action Richard.:(
This is a great scene too, lovely little boats, seems timeless.

Very nice picture with vivid colors. Nice presentation. Personaly I don't pay any attention to the ratings and would just as soon they do away with them. I don't see that they do much good in the final outcome. The people that run the site don't seem to use them to any advantage that I can see. Don.

Nice set of boats and colours, Richard. Also, you've managed to keep a fair bit of colour and detail in the background and sky, which says a lot about your exposure. Bad luck on the 'ones'. If it was a deliberate down-marking then it was a particularly mean and cowardly thing to do! To be honest, I get a little frustrated when people 'view' a picture and then don't bother to at least rate it, as it only takes about 3 seconds to hit those little buttons ~ what's the point not at least doing that?!
Kind regards, Chris.
P.S. Looking back through albums of my old photo's recently ~ many of them pictures that, at the time, I thought were pretty good ~ I've been amazed to see the vast difference in overall quality between them and my new digital prints! To be honest, I've only found a few, (literally), that I feel are worth scanning!!

Very nice composition with beautiful colours.
