| About |
Scanned at 200dpi from a 4 x 6 inch print with some cropping, slight sharpening and contrast adjustments, plus minor digital retouching to clean up some scanner-surface dust. I discovered this stunning statue while walking around Washington, DC after dinner in Chinatown: it's about four blocks north of the National Gallery, sitting in what seems to be a judicial building(?) or law school(?) courtyard. I have no idea who it's supposed to be, who did it, or how old it is, though it looks to me like it's teens/twenties Nouveau-to-Deco vintage. (If anybody knows anything about this statue, please tell me!) This was taken shortly before sunset, with the light going fast, and it obviously would have been a better shot if I had been there somewhat earlier and used a tripod... but I still think it came out pretty well. Alas, this was my last roll of Royal Gold 100 - another simply wonderful film that Kodak recently discontinued, DAMN THEM!
