I took the picture into Adobe to look more closely...I don not think the problem is with the focus, but rather the exposure...in this instance I would rather see the young man's face as opposed to his robs...there seems to be an expression there and would be wonderful to see that...I'd also like to know what he is doing as the placement of the left hand seems to be touching something...I think that once again you have a good composition...but need to find the balance for the exposure...I see this is film so perhaps your print shows more detail

Nice portrait as a composition. Well personaly I think the lighting support isn't the best because of the angle that the sunlight cames. This one is surely a not easy photo.

the overall look of the image strikes you, but upon closer examination, i just can't stand the black hole which is most of the boys face, its just to jarring where as a hint of texture would have added a rich dimension to this unusual angle of a view not seen to often -the boy in his robe- by western eyes.

As far as this one of yours is concerned, I love the point of view you chose to take this young boy ans his attitude.
From a technical standpoint, I know that film, specially color film, is unforgiving when the light range is too wide for its frustrating limitations. I feel it's a real pain and I can only commiserate with you since I am also stuck with this kind of medium AND the problems I have to face, in terms of sharpness too, when I want to turn prints into good digital image files for the Web.
