About Taken on the Northshore of Kauai in December when the sun is as far South as it will ever get. A North swell from storms thousands of miles away brought in the waves. Any comments or suggestions are always appreciated. www.hawaiianphotos.net

Aloha Vincent... I wish I had a valuable piece of constructive criticism to give you here, but I am afraid I can't with this kind of shot. Your rendering perfectly captures the magic of this sunset, complimented by a moody tonal range of light and shadow and color, almost blinding to the eye at the Sun's center, and then soothed by the outer, almost surreally colored sky, the pastel water, and the wonderfully reflective rocks in the foreground...all perfectly composed, of course. Magnificent work, brother! Maika'i loa!

BTW, special thanks for your extremely valuable comment on "Little Sister" (I replied to you over there), and more thanks for your great Forum posts and comments which really exemplify what Usefilm should be about. And believe me, you ain't goin' away from here, braddah... I'll track you down and haunt you until you return...;-))... So just keep doin' your thing, and others WILL follow by example... A hui hou, GP.

PS: Sorry about the run-on paragraphs... Apparently paragraph spacing is not functioning today. Time to go bother Al! ;-)

Excellent photo, beautiful colours, great job!

This is the classic sunset image. I might prefer the sun decentered just a little to add some tension and the foliage on the hill on the left is not crisp on my monitor but that's quibbling. The exposure, considering the range to be handled is just about right. No bonus points for sunsets because you didn't have to get up in the middle of the night!

Since you're a professional, it would be interesting to know if you sell this type work or if this is strictly personal work.

Whew, finally somebody could come up with some criticism :-)
You are in a very good location for shooting rolls and rolls of velvia!

A big Mahalo (thanks in Hawaiian) for all your comments here. This will perhaps always be one of my personal favorite images captured. I always enjoy taking a ride up here with my dogs, my pickup and the beauty of Kauai's Northshore. It is always a special trip for me.

Thanks GP for you very kind words as well as humble spirit. Your work speaks for itself my friend!! We should get together one day to shoot and talk story. You sound like an interesting guy. Do you like to fish any??

Richard, this is sold all over the islands in our print line from 5x7 up to 16x20, and then also up to 24x36 through our website. It is one of our better sellers as well. Thanks for asking.

John...I do not understand what you mean....perhaps you can elaborate!...heh...never mind, just kidding.

Aloha!
