About Two ladies of different generations and dressed accordingly, waiting outside a shop in Carnaby Street.I was drawn by their contrasting styles and their body langauge, the older one seeming to turn her back on the other.

My generation. Both :)
I used to be just like the young one. Now I'm turning into the other lady....
You have the eye to see it and a fast reaction.
Splendid decisive moment, David. Marília

I really like this as B&W. Really great that she is standing in a natural pose, not something forced. I'm new to B&W, so I'm still getting used to seeing "grain" in photos (I love to shoot Fuji Provia 100F and Velvia 100F, known for their incredible lack of grain) but the grain here really adds a feel to this. Very great effort that paid off well! -- Rod :)

Fine example of the genre. Was this taken recently? It does look like a period piece. I like it very much.

Before I read Carnaby Street, I thought Carnaby Street! I think it's the cap.:)
Like Marilia...that name is etched in my mind from my teens! Great shot David.

Flower power reigned, those were the days, I love seeing these "trendy" images, thanks for the memories David, excellent tones and detail, well done - Richard.

P.S I also though Carnaby street before I read it, must be the hat!

I think we need to see the older woman's face, to know that she is in any sense relating, or actively avoiding relating, to the younger one. Without that, it looks like just two women coincientally in the same place.

david malcolmson   {K:4145} 9/23/2003
Ken, I can't really agree with you on this one.The older lady's attitude is merely suggested and not meant to be taken literally. The image is really an illustration of the generation gap. Best wishes. David
