About Aug. 26, 2002. Taken near Preston, Minnesota. I enjoy views of contoured crops dropping off into a valley. Even nicer at sunset, although it might have been a tad dark here.

This is fine and sharp photo. Great detail and good composition. Wish the sky is more magic.

Thanks, Kurt. Oh, and to ID those crops for the city folks... lol... those are soybeans in the foreground. Corn and alfalfa are contour cropped in the distance. Contouring with alfalfa helps control erosion problems with row crops (like corn and soybeans) on hillsides. AND THAT'S YOUR FARMING LESSON FOR TODAY! hehehe

Lisa, thanks for the interesting lesson. I really like the photo.

very interesting crop study Lisa, and a mighty straight horizon I notice :) Would be a nice view at sunset, but you would lose some detail in the crops I think in a darker light, a little bit of haze going on here, but still an effective image.

Nice view, Lisa. Simple format, interesting throughout.

Wonderful subtle colours. I really like the mood. Great composition with balanced framing at top and bottom. Good sharpness and exposure. My only nit-pick is that the is a bit of a merger between the tree at the right and the distant clump of trees.

Now I don't have to join 4H! Great photo Lisa. I bet the bigger the print the better it looks.
