Perfect use of DOF! Simple but effective composition. You've organized the negative space very well here. Nice colour palette too. Well-seen, well-executed.

You sure are creative Kim. At first I was not sure that I liked the colored background. But after looking at it a bit and then reading your description I indeed do like it. There is a lack of clarity on my screen, but I have also lost sharpness on some of my images. Really nice colors here. I do like your work, as do many others by all the comments you receive.

Thanks Ken and Vincent... I wish I had a DOF preview button on my camera (or had used common sense) and pulled the daisy closest to the bottom (almost centred daisy) further down and out of the general area so that it wasn't so out of focus and didn't moosh the other daisies together, but all in all I like the way it turned out.
Thanks again for your comments.

In the thumbnail version this jumps out at you, very attractive. I would have preferred more clarity, fine detail in the close flowers. Of course I know this is difficult, hand-held, with maybe a slight breeze. I tried a similar image last month, and was disappointed in the lack of detail. I wonder if flash would help. Outstanding background.

Love this background. Wish you had a shot of the background alone to combine with seperate flower shots. Hmmmm?

Because of the shallow DOF the flowers are a bit soft. I do however love the composition and the idea of having the flowers seem as if they are floating in the air. Nice idea Kim.

Thanks Debbie.... the print is a bit sharper than this, but the DOF was very shallow to start with. Hopefully with the new scanner that I'll be getting in the next couple of months I'll be able to present what the print looks like! Glad you liked it!
