Very powerful color and back round. It's not nice to fool Mother nature! Where does that come from...............hmmmmmmmm Was it a margerine spread or something? Marvelous works Jim!

You create fantastic visions Jim. Mountains melting ...like a scene from "Revelations"
Very visual and strong image

Lou Verruto   {K:1375} 10/4/2003
Another stunning image in this series. I think I know the dude on the left. Filmore East, The Band.. this guy was obviously enjoying himself..but I digress...

The color, the design, the contrast...the dude...all work so well here. The lava like middleground is amazing to me. WOW man.. this is a killer!

Cool image Jim.... errr...make that a "hot" image. As a professional soil scientist (Ret.), I have a strong background in geology and have a great deal of appreciation of this work. I love the magma/lava colors, and also the gaseous clouds in the upper part-- a good representaion of volcanic processes-- and something that's way beyond man's control.

Lissa Hatcher   {K:3006} 10/4/2003
This image must reflect your mind :) its almost crazy .... No really I love the way it almost looks to hot to look at . you really have a nac for photoshop textures....making it work ... Someday I will be so grand...

Carol Watson   {K:5185} 10/4/2003
Wow!! Very telling image, Indiana Jim! The colors and contrast are wicked! The wild lines of glowing lava really add to the heat! The only thing missing is a virgin about to be sacrificed. :-)

Mari Mar   {K:11417} 10/4/2003
De maravilla! Bravo!!

G C   {K:12204} 10/4/2003
Seems like you can even capture whole prehistoric periods. Amazing, I'm still working on getting able to work on some area codes..

Neil Shapiro   {K:2122} 10/4/2003
Wonderful image; good combination of surreal and previously real. Not sure what the figure is on the left -- mythological I assume.

Kristina Kohut   {K:49990} 10/4/2003
Oh dear... this is VERY beautiful! Although I don't believe you took this shot when mother nature was young, because you can't be that old! What I think is that you have jumped in to a vulcano, taken this shot there, and then come back to Usefilm!

Patricia Eifel   {K:5097} 10/5/2003
I like the seething atmosphere of this one very much, Jim, and I find the grouping of the verticle elements more satisfying than in some of the other compositions that used these. The wailing head at the top adds interest ---somehow makes me think of Bosch a bit althogh the style is, of course, completely different. Nice one!

MaryBell    {K:32791} 10/5/2003
Jim,

I agree with Patricia on this: "I find the grouping of the verticle elements more satisfying than in some of the other compositions that used these." I love him - he reminds me of a phoenix - perhaps it is the birth of the phoenix...

Great work, as always, Jim!
I have to say that this isn't one of my favourite McNitt specials, but it's still pretty impressive.
I think I'd have placed the creature a little more to the right, so that it's not so close to the edge.
Kind regards, Chris.
P.S. I've been offline for a couple of days, waiting to go on to broadband. Now I'm back and everything's so much faster!

Young and angry it is. You have created wonderful emotion with all the bold reds and orages. Very nice work.

Paolo Barthelemy   {K:25552} 10/7/2003
Great dramatic composition with reddish, saturated tones. Beautiful sky and land textures.
I would try to put the "creature" a little bit more far from the left margin.
My best regards, Paolo

Ben Goossens   {K:500} 10/7/2003
Very good, hot stuff... I feel the head. Well done, Jim
