It works because you get the pumping motion as the WINDsurfer thrashes his sail in and out to try and get on the plane (high speed with only the fin section of the board touching the water). Too bad you just cropped the top of the sail

This is a wonderful image. I normally don't care much for this kind of photography, but you have captured this so nicely! Just the right amount of blur and good composition to create a very striking image.
