John!
I L-O-V-E this! I love this because-I, have an obsession with leaves. yes, as weird as that sounds, I do.
What could be better than a red maple leaf against a birch background? Nothing! This really captures the essence of fall.
I've been bummed out-I'm at home sick with pneumonia, and I haven't been able to shoot film in weeks. Thanks for making my night.

This photo has two outstanding qualities to it, the simplicty and the contrast. Good eye in seeing this. I like it alot and am putting it my favs.
How do you like the velvia 100F? I am thinking about trying it, would like to hear what you think about it.

Beautiful work John. Lovely fall color, great saturation, nice detail and texture. Great shot. Gets me in the mood for autumn! Nicely composed also. Cant wait to get out here and take some fall pics myself. I know your trip is coming up - Delaware Gap - Enjoy and I will be waiting for the wonderful images you will come back with. I will be very jealous, but I hope you have good weather and a fun time.

Hi John,

Beautiful composition and wonderful contrasts of bright versus pastel and smooth versus rough. It doesn't get much better than this!

I've admired your photos since I first came aboard Usefilm.com. Thanks for your recent comments on my "red" photos. I even started quoting part of your comment about '...the old adage of "when you see red, shoot it!"' When I took the photo of the red tractor grille, my brother was with me, and I quoted him this piece of photo gospel according to John B.

I think I've always had a bunch of "useful cliches" in my head when I take pictures. For example, "a little bit of something in a whole lot of nothing" and "anything with a strong diagonal." Now I've added "when you see red, shoot it!" :-)

Best regards,
SteveR
