Ursula, this makes a very interesting image, you really sense the sound of applause.
Hope I haven't asked before but do you like your 5050 in lowlight situations? I just got one recently and it's not as good as the 2100 I have. So I revert back to it for many of my portraits. I keep wondering if there is something wrong with my 5050. It does well outside.

Hi Ursula:
To me, one of the most fascinating new possibilities created by digital photography is the ability to explore techniques and concepts that have been more or less the exclusive province of painting. Obviously, multiple exposure images exploring movement have been going on since Muybridge. Still, I'm struck by the similarities in style and tone between this image and some of Duchamps movement explorations. Hope you do some of these! --Jim

Jim, funny you should mention Muybridge. That's what started all the hands pictures (and hat, feet, and moving brushes pictures). But I liked them (the hands pictures) better merged, rather than in a row. The Duchamps connection I had not noticed, but the look does remind of his works. Maybe I'll try some more of these :)

I like this version better because color is more visually noisy and celebrative...the effect of this image is an intense concentration of energy and reaction when one looks at the cluster of hands...
