Didn't think much about it at the time. but unlike autumn in the east, the leaf colors are green and gold, not red. Scrub oak is an exception with it's red leaves. I have seen pictures that described a Red Aspen, but this must be rare. Another aspect of this picture, I thought was interesting is that red is in the foreground, then orange, yellow, light green, dark green, and finally blue. Colors of the rainbow, and in order. That's something to look for in a color landscape. Red seems to help most pictures and blue gives depth.
