The background shadows make it appear as if she is about to be grabbed into the darkness. A 1920's filmic heroine with religious art overtones. I like your techniques and the results are surprising which is a breath of fresh air. The slight change I would make would be to make the line of her fore-arm a little more pronounced so as to connect more definitively with her raised hand.
