About This is actually a bit of the natural history museum in London, but the dark looming building reminds me of something from an old horror film, hence the title.
The print has more detail in both highlights and shadow areas - scanner unable to reproduce.

This is an excellent shot and perspective. I like the exposure as well, you got the nice details in the shadows also clouds... [A secret: Usually I tend to washout the sky in these situatuions.] Very nice.

I can see how this impressive building could be seen as a horror house, but the sky here seems too bright to really convey the feeling. Are there any lights on the building to get a night shot with the moon? I know it's cliche, but I can see the potenial with storm clouds and a moon peeking through.
The bottom of the building is awesome... great lighting, great mystery... and your framing adds tension. Just need to do soemthing about that sky.... *grin*

Hi Kim
Thank you for your valuable comment. The image as you see it here was a fairly quick effort in a darkroom - the contrast change half way up the building was extreme, and I was dodging a fair bit to get them both to work and not lose the detail of the brickwork in the upper section - which is clearer in the print.
I'm getting started with lightroom technique, so this image may well become a project. I know what you mean about storm clouds and the moon - I may go back at night later (the building is floodlit), but currently there's no access at night due to terrorist threat (It is the natural history museum in London).
Thanks again
Chris
