About I was visiting the riuned Palace of Linlithgow with a friend. I noticed the interesting effect that the light from a distant window was having on my friend's profile and I decided to take a shot.Is this a natural form of 'painting with light'?

Stunning, David -- meticulous without being boring or static (as meticulous can sometimes be). It also feels very natural & unplanned. Very beautiful, and I think the white button is just splendid!
