Alan,
Alot of elements all working together for a very pleasing image. I really like the thin layer of fog over the water. Background color and reflections look great, nice compositional work on this. You have been piling some great scenic shots lately. Fall in Louisiana, did I say fall, I don't think we have that season. Everything goes from green to muddy brown.

nice photo, the herron must have taken off already...
the one I photographed let me get about 8-10 feet to him
before he took off. good thing the canon 10d is quick, as you know.
your pictures look like New Englan..New Hampshire maybe?
