Graphically stronger than the other shots from the same location. The vertical format works well with these strong vertical lines. The sense of depth is strengthened by the second dune in the back. And, I really like the well-separated clouds. Well-done!

I rescind my previous comment! *This* is my favourite Sand Hills photograph. The dark, polarized sky is very effective against the sand. I agree with Kenneth about the second dune. One gets a better feel of both distance and size. (But that's just personal preference. I like a bit of context.) It would have been nice to see the foreground a bit sharper, but overall, it's a great Canadian desertscape. *L*

Very nice Kim!
You commented on my Sand Sculpture, asking if I had a color shot. The picture I submitted is color and I added a comment.
It was shady on the side of the dune and zooming in took out all clor. The "Circle" was taken in summertime.
In this picture, if you had taken a coseup at the bottom of your scene, it would also look like it was a B/W shot
The Desert has so many picture opportunities. I live 10Km from the Park where my shots were taken.

Thanks Brian, Alisa, Les, Becky and Kenneth.... although I'll really have to go back there with some slide film and knowing that my 28mm doesn't meter properly... most of my shots with the 28mm were washed out from my meter telling me to use a faster shutter speed than I needed.

This is a very interesting thumbnail,Kim,but the opened image seems rather soft on my monitor.I think this is either a scanning or resizing problem,since the equipment/lighting conditions/aperture used don't justify the blurriness of the image.Apart from this,the picture is perfectly composed and metered and the polarized sky contrasts nicely with the sidelighted sand. Keep shooting! :-)

Hi Kim,
You do a very nice work. One thing that I like to bring to your attention that I learned myself not too long ago. I see that you've used a 28mm lens. If you look on your frame you see that you have vignetting and this happens when you use a 28mm lens with screw on filters. The way to get rid of this problem is to use a bigger size filter by using a stepping ring and this would take care of your vignetting.
