About This is a colour infrared photo of my niece. It's been converted to B&W and the contrast etc has been changed to try and get a dark dreamy eye look.

What a cutie!

Is it the nature of IR to be soft on living things and sharp on inanimate?

Keith © 2002   {K:99} 9/16/2002
yeh I think your right Sue.

Infrared rays penetrate through the top layer of skin so because babies have realy soft smooth skin under their top layer of skin this is reflected back to the camera but older people dont so you can see wrinkles and veins that can't be seen with the normal eye.

Atleast thats how i think it works.
