I like your still life/abstract work, many quirky imaginative ideas. It's really clever to make everyday objects appear striking and interesting. It's something I'm trying to learn to do better. Putting the obvious skill aside for one moment, you have one of the most fun portfolios I have seen on this site (very important!). We are having another still-life shoot (with glassware etc) at my studio course on Sunday and you have given me a few ideas.

Barry, I just took a look at your portfolio and I have to say I'm simply amazed. You make it look so easy, taking everyday objects and photographing them in completely surprising ways. You've established such a trademark style...I feel like I could stumble across one of your photographs and say: "Well, would you look at that? That's a Barry Walthall". ;-) Your work betrays the fact that you're having entirely too much fun...

this is absolutely fantastic. your picture of the egg and 3 mirrors first sparked an interest to see the rest of your portfolio and I think this is my favorite photo of the ones you have here.
I love the way the glasses in front distort the ones in the back.
